U-534 Birkenhead
The U-534 (Type IX), was sunk on the May 5th 1945. After lying on the seabed for 48 years, she was raised in August 1993. She was brought to the Historic Warships at Birkenhead in May 1996. Walking through the boat, you only have awe and respect for the men that served on her. The U-534 has a new future. Please click on the U-534 link for further details and regular updates. |

U-505 Chicago
On June 4th 1944, U-505 (Type IX) U-boat was captured off the coast of West Africa. On the U-boat's last trip across the Atlantic to the US Coast, it found its final resting place in Chicago. It is now a preserved time capsual, where visitors can get a taste of life onboard. |

U-995 Laboe
The U-995 (Type VII) surrendered on May 8th 1945. After serving with the Norwegian Navy, she was returned to Germany and became a museum Boat in October 1971. A fantastic Boat in a great setting. More info |

U-2540 Bremerhaven
The U-2540 (Type XXI Elektroboot) was the future as far as German U-boats were concerned. Unfortunately it was too late to have any affect. After a very short 2 month career, the U-2540 was scuttled. Raised again in 1957 and used by the Bundesmarine. Transfered to Bremerhaven museum in 1984. More info |

Probably THE best War movie of all time. Das Boot is an absolute classic. Based on actual events, you are immersed into the lives of a few of the thousands of men that served in the U-bootwaffe. You can visit the famous Bavarian film studios where the movie was created. |

U-995 and The U-boat Memorial
Towering over the U-995 at Laboe is the Naval Monument and Museum. Dedicated to the Thousands of men that served and lost their lives. You can also visit the U-boot-Archiv and museum in Cuxhaven. Horst Bredow the founder has made it his life work to collate and research information relating to the U-bootwaffe.
The Memorial at Möltenort is dedicated to all the U-boat Men that lost their lives at Sea. |
